DGCI to Audit Clinical Trials

The DGCI is gearing up to investigate clinical trials being conducted around the country. To this end it is looking to equip between 25 to 30 professionals from medical institutions and the industry with powers to examine records and unearth discrepancies in “informed consent” forms and suspicious data. This marks a change from India’s current system where the focus has hitherto been on pharmaceutical products but is now shifting to clinical trials.
